Jewson

Jewson is comprised of 600 branches across the United Kingdom, selling predominantly to small building contractor companies.

The Benefits

With missing information and a short timescale, we were able to launch our service with Jewson, transferring an entire existing cleaning operative workforce seamlessly and without any interruption to the service quality. We introduced new processes and standards to long-term operatives to ensure that cleaning standards were not just maintained but improved.

The time and attendance system introduced, ensured there were no interruptions to service quality, as it managed staff absences and enabled managers greater proactivity in managing the contract through process efficiency. Paperwork was greatly reduced through new systems ensuring the contract managers spent less time in the office and more time with the cleaning operatives. Additionally, thanks to the new system, Jewson sites also became more environmentally friendly.

Since our 2015 introduction, our service delivery and customer service are rated by Jewson as being above all expectations.

The Challenge

In 2015, Samsic was awarded the cleaning contract for all UK sites, which needed to be mobilised in less than three weeks. This process was challenging due to the TUPE process, which was riddled with incorrect or incomplete information of existing cleaning staff across the estate.

The Solution

With just three weeks to mobilise the entire cleaning operative workforce, Samsic united as an organisation to ensure all potential TUPE transferees were contacted, Jewson sites were contacted and visited, and most importantly, staff relations were initiated. Each Jewson site cleaning team was kept informed and motivated about the changes, ready to commence the new contract as seamlessly as possible, without any loss of service.

For ease across such a major estate, Samsic introduced a time and attendance system which directly links to the robust Templa payroll and budgeting system. The use of this system eradicates the need for signing in and out sheets.

Senior management of Jewson are given access to all contract information through our client portal, providing fully transparent account management with access to a full suite of real-time data.

Dedicated cleaners are employed per site, supported by our ‘mobile’ and area management cleaning systems to provide even cleaning coverage on all sites, ensuring operatives have greater time-efficiency as they clean the areas which need it.
