Blowing your own trumpet: we’re all at it. A touch of self-promotion goes with the territory: it’s social media after all. But coming from your clients, it’s a whole different kind of music.

It’s the email that dreams are made of, coming out of the blue. A cosmetics giant with a busy distribution centre they can’t afford to lose to Covid. Then the virus strikes our cleaning team. What then?

Our very own Jason Coppard has clocked up more cleaning years onsite than most, so he should know. Jason and the remaining team* pulled together with the client, working overtime to manage the crisis. The pandemic divided them, but it didn’t conquer them. The client hailed our response as “AMAZING” (their capitals).

Then they went a step further, saying they’d have been forced to stop trading without us (OK, the italics are ours). “Without such strong leadership, and such a great cleaning team under you during the Covid spike, we would have had no option but to shut the operation.”

Do you have a Jason in your midst? Someone who knows your business inside out. Someone who’s a troubleshooter without being a lone ranger, because they’re leading a winning team.

If you do, you don’t have to wait for your client to speak up. Ask them for a few lines of testimonial. Put them in your proposals, your emails, your social. Sounds obvious, but are you making the most of the respect you’ve earned? It’s good to know (and share) that you’re on the right track, and nothing says it like word of mouth.

Your client blown away by you too? Go ahead and let us know.
